Ad-Lit
As a web designer/web developer working at a company that creates travel guides for Wisconsin Dells specifically and the state of Wisconsin as a whole, there has always been a gap between the world of print and the online world.
Sure, we all agree on the design concepts, but working on ads or websites would lead to complications. The online world works in RGB, the print world in CMYK. Print designers love to work on a Mac, I use a Pc (with windows and Suse Linux). Once a travel guide is printed, that was it. A funny example is that when one of the travel guides was printed, an advertiser called because he wanted to change his ad!
Funny? It was at the time. Now a new technique/concept is being used by Ad-Lit: The printed version of various travel guides are now available to view online as if it was a book! These online travelguides are amazing: it looks really sharp; even the pages flip like a normal `hand held` travel guide!
From the advertiser standpoint this is an amazing development since it increases the exposure! In this particular case the online travelguides are show cased on the web portals for Wisconsin and Wisconsin Dells that have an online exposure of 7 million yearly visitors.
It gets even better when individual ads can be linked directly to the advertiser's website, making it the best example of advanced integration of the online and the print world.
